Hi. I hope this catches the attention of one of the Administrators. I've noticed that a lot of the other fertility websites have sticky threads for IVF successes, and would love it if we could replicate it here. These are the questions they generally ask:

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: Its harder than I thought... so much harder. But, even when you think its over, it might just be starting. And, no matter how much you worry, the result won't change! Worrying doesn't equal failure! TRUST ME!

Update: Ended in MC @ 10 weeks. Trying again soon.

Hi Isi! I'll add my story:
Maxxiandniko (Darlene):
39 yo, DH 39, TTC since summer 2009 after being on the pill since around age 21. First BFP in Oct 2009, mmc in Nov 2009. Second BFP March 2010, chemical pregnancy in April 2010. Cycles always less than 28 days. Started with fertility specialist Aug 2010, 1st IVF with ICSI in November 2010. BFP December 3rd, beta 510. Second beta December 6th - a little over 1400.
1st sono done urgently because of brown bleeding/discharge at 5 weeks, normal and beta around 4000. 1st official scan December 21st at 6.5 weeks - twins with heartbeats!

Almost forgot - 11 eegs retrieved, 5 fertilized, 3 embryos put back after 3 days 1 embryo Grade 2, 2 Grade 2.5. I think I used repronex and gonal f. No real symptoms during the 2ww.

Protocol (meds taken):................................OCP for 3w, Suprecur nasal spray for DR, 225 Menopur for stimms (13d), Cyclogest 400mg AM/PM until OTD.

How many eggs retrieved:............................6, 1 immature, 5 mature
How many eggs fertilized:............................3
How many days between ER and ET:..............D3 transfer

How many days bed rest:.............................none... I pottered at the markets, went for leisurely walks and back to work 2 days after transfer. ALSO I hade Acu 2 hrs before transfer and 4 hours after.

Symptoms or issues during 2WW:..................veins came up very blue on my upper chest/breasts and hips. Nausea mildly and a bit ratty ( thought it was PMT)

What day you got your BFP:.........................8 days post 3d transfer

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process:
I have to say I started Acupuncture at the end of August, on a weekly basis, just to make sure my body was totally prepared and I think it really helped me emotionally through the process. I gave up my boxing class and I just did gentle exercise pilates and yoga. OH and I gave up caffeine and alcohol for 2-3 months prior to EC too.....

I ALSO HAD A HIGH PROTEIN DIET AS ADVISED THIS WAS GOOD FOR EGG QUALITY SO I MADE SURE I ATE QUITE ALOT OF CHICKEN AND DRANK A PINT OF SEMI SKIMMED MILK EVERY MORNING THROUGH WHOLE OF TREATMENT AND 2WW. I ALSO DRANK 2 LITRES OF WATER A GOOD FEW MONTHS BEFORE TREATMENT AND THROUGH TREATMENT AND STILL DO NOW.

How many eggs retrieved: 16 (15 useable)
How many eggs fertilized: 10 (on day 3 i had 8 of perfect quality, so have 7 cryo babies)

How many days bed rest: i slept all afternoon, didn't have to though
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: tired (valium), felt like my period was going to start any minute when i stood up in the mornings,

What day you got your BFP: unofficially:13dpo/dpER officially: 14dpER
HPT before blood test: pointless to do if you get two more shots of pregnyl after transfer,
i tested with OPK's instead bc they require a higher amount of HCG to go positive.
and those went negative, then positive again, win! of course i did a HPT too, strong positive
Number of first beta: around 350
Number of babies: 1
