Recurrent chemical pregnancies im so broken

Hi hun, I know this is an old thread and you’ve now got your sticky bean. Congratulations.

im on my second chemical pregnancy but last time practically bled straight away when test turned BFN

this time im 16DPO very faint lines. CD36 and no sign of my period. How long can this go on for before bleeding starts. Having back pain and feeling sick and just want the hormones to drop now so I can move onto my next cycle. This limbo is making me worse. Just devastated x

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. Miscarriages are never easy and when they are taking their sweet time starting, it's even worse because you just want it over with.

Secondly, it's probably best that you start your own thread so you can ask questions. The mods usually ask that you do.

Third, in answer to your question, it really depends. Sometimes it can take a bit longer but other times it can start right away. However, I see from your signature that you have PCOS. Just be aware that PCOS can cause not only a delayed period but also give you faint lines. If you have the cystic type of PCOS, the cysts can produce a hormone similar to hCG and it can/will trigger a faint line depending on the brand of test you use. And I think the hormonal type of PCOS can cause a slightly elevated hCG level which can also trigger a faint positive. First Response are NOTORIOUSLY bad for giving faint lines to women with PCOS. I am not saying that what you are experiencing ISN'T a chemical pregnancy. I truly believe that you are having a second miscarriage. I'm only letting you know that this can happen.

Fourth, if you are having recurrent chemical pregnancies, I'd talk to your doctor. Especially if this one isn't starting on it's own. The dr will be able to do a blood test to see what your hCG levels are doing and may give you medication to start your period. Another issue with PCOS is hormone imbalances and the most common reason for chemical pregnancies is low progesterone. Since this is your second chemical pregnancy, they may refer you for recurrent miscarriage testing or at least run some blood tests to see what your hormones are doing. They other thing they may be able to do is prescribe progesterone for you to take in the first trimester. For some women, this is all the extra help they need and they go on to have healthy pregnancies.

I hope this helps a bit at least. Recurrent miscarriage is hard and it's not very well understood. But I'm hopeful you will get some answers. :hugs:

Thanks didn’t realise it would cause offense asking a question here.

Thanks for your comments I’ve dealt with pcos for many years so know that that’s not what’s causing the HCG but thanks anyway.

sorry for asking a question on OPs thread and if it’s caused offence

Hello sweetie no offence caused at all. I'm so sorry ure going through this.
I had 4 last year in total and possibly 5 but can't be sure with the 5th. Definitely had 4 tho and tested positive on several brands.

So with 2 of the chemicals my period came when it was due.
But the last 2 chemicals last July and October my period was about 4 days late.

I really hope ures comes soon so u can move on. Being in limbo Is horrible.

I had a bunch of tests done to see why I was having so many chemicals but everything came back normol.
I got to the point where i was so afraid to try for fear of keep having losses.
After my 4th loss I was advised by a lovely lady on here to start taking Galatanised Macca Root and Folate.
I was also advised to start taking baby aspirin from the moment I got lines.

I truly believe a combination of all those things helped this one to stick.
I was also taking vitamin B complex and vitamin D.

I really hope I've managed to help in some way hon.
Sending u such big big hugs right now:hugs:

Just wanted to clarify the 'ask a new question' thing I posted about before. It's not that it's going to cause offense if you ask a question on an older thread and there's nothing wrong with asking on an older thread. It's just the recommendation from the mods that you start your own thread so people can answer YOUR questions instead of replying to something else that may be in the thread from earlier than your post. Again, it's not a bad thing that you did this. It's just the BnB recommendation that you make your own thread is all. I'm sorry if I caused some confusion there.
