Hi everyone

Well I haven't been here for a LONG time!

I have a 14 year old and an 11 year old, I'm 36. My partner and I have been talking about trying for a baby, he doesn't have any children.

We have been together for a couple of years and bought a house together earlier this year, we are in a really good place, but we both know that time is ticking a little bit and we probably should try sooner rather than later. I have a smear due and my coil is also due to be changed so we've decided to go to the doctor together and talk about if there's anything we can be doing to prepare or if there's anything we can do to find out what situation I'm with my fertility. Ideally, we would like to get married next year and try for a baby afterwards but obviously we could push that back if we needed to.

I had a google and found the ovarian reserve blood tests, I think that would probably be something good to do but just wondered others experiences or if there's anything we can be doing to prepare in the meantime?

Also any supplements etc that are worth me taking?

I fell pregnant when I was 21 and 24 so feels very different this time!!!

Any advice appreciated ❤️❤️

I am 36 as well, I am hoping to start trying around Feb of next year. I had the same thinking of getting my eggs in top shape haha. I do prenatals (with methyl-folate), myo & d-chiro inositol, and coQ10, in addition to my usual D3, iron, C, probiotic, Magnesium, and fish oil. Other supplements I throw in occasionally are acetyl-l-carnitine, ashwaghanda, red maca, and epo. When the time comes I will also be adding raspberry leaf tea. Good luck!!

Hi, some extra tests, e.g. AMH (ovarian reserve) are good to do in case you will be having some ttc issues. Age is a very important factor but this does not mean you will be having problems. Visiting a fertility specialist is recommended when a woman aged 35+ cannot conceive naturally during 6 months of regular sex. However, it's recommended to start taking supplement 3 months prior to ttc to prepare your and partner's health. Although the article refers to IVF, they list all supplements a couple needs to take to boost their chances: here. Hope this helps and good luck.
