Hi everybody! I'm a first time mom to a beautiful 3 month old baby girl and I've been struggling a bit with naps. For the record, she sleeps great at night in her bassinet; she usually sleeps from 8pm-2am, and then from around 2:30-5:30 or 6:00, goes back to sleep and wakes up for the day around 8am. She would probably sleep in longer stretches but I have to give her a medication that requires her to go no longer than 6 hours in between feedings. Where we really struggle is nap times! She usually sleeps fine when we do contact naps but she wakes up immediately if I try to put her down in her bassinet or crib. We have tried absolutely everything: heating pad to warm her space, swaddling her with white noise (creating good sleep environment), hold her close to chest all the way down to bassinet, holding hand on her chest for about a minute after putting her down, putting her down butt first, and we wait to put her down until she's already been asleep for at least 15-20 minutes. It's getting really difficult because I'm working partially from home and partially in the office and I can't get anything done because she will literally not sleep during the day if she isn't contact napping. It's also hard when planning to have other people watch her for us because they can't just put her down for a nap.

The other problem we are having is she is a bit of a busy body and has serious FOMO (fear of missing out) and usually refuses her late afternoon nap. She shows all the sleepy cues and we try everything and she usually just refuses to nap at that time, which means she is beyond overtired every day by 4pm. That usually results in her screaming inconsolably for hours, which is so hard for us to hear her cry, but it's also just really mentally draining. Does anybody have any advice on helping our little one get to sleep during the day? We are trying so hard. Thank you all in advance!
