2nd ICSI

Hi all, just a little intro about myself. I'm going to turn 40 by end of Oct. I had both of my fallopian tubes removed due to cysts at 25 yrs old. I tried one ICSI and one time 3days embyro transfer during my previous marriage with no success pregnancy.

My current husband and i decided to try for ICSI to conceive our baby, we don't have any choice and due to financial problem, we can only try one time.

I had my tests done and the doctor wasn't happy with my AMH hormone level and i was given one month pills. Test AMH again after one month and doctor said it was normal and we are looking forward to have our scan on February. Our doctor wants to ensure that i have enough egg follicles to start the stimulation injections. The previous scan showing my right ovary is a bit weak and only have 2 egg follicles and left ovary have 5-7 egg folicles. I know this follicles number is kind of low and the amount of embryo survive to day 5 is even lower.

I'm upset of my egg follicles count and really really hope that we can get pregnant this time. feeling stress ...

Good luck! Numbers can really mess with your head in ivf, I totally understand you being anxious, especially when having the one shot.
We did ivf and out of 10 eggs had only one fertilized, but it survived to day 3 and I'm now 30 weeks pregnant. So there's always a chance, even when the odds are against you.

Our FS initial plan is to wait till day 5 for the transfer. I'm worry if the embryo didn't able to develop till day 5. my first IVF was 14 years ago, IVF was still new in my country and i'm not asked to make a lot of tests before the start the stimulations. and we had Day 3 transfer + another FET , however none had success and nothing is advised by that doctor.

I feel like i'm the only one who is being anxious, dh is not an emotional person and looks like he takes it pretty easy. and ask me not to watch youtube and read about the IVF stories and etc. i start to depress and don't have a way to express my feelings.

well, i went to the local hospital this morning, get consultation and make appointment for bloodtest next week as the blood test result only valid for 10 days before IVF and my AF is actually due yesterday but still no show yet but it can be anytime soon.

I'm going to have vaginal test later ( not sure what the test for, FS mention that it only valid for one month before IVF), the previous result was expired because our FS went for long holiday.

I'm so anxious, we will have to call the FS once AF show up to make our appointment to check the follicles count and if the FS is happy with the count then we can start IVF straight away!

Wishing you good luck with it all and do take 1 step at a time as it can be daunting. I have a very low AMH and did IVF. We only retrieved 4 follicles and 2 made it to day 5. I was so stressed about the low number but it worked. In the end it only takes one… wishing you the best of luck!!

I had too high AMH for my first test and given a month pill and recheck again the following month. and it was dropped to the normal range. but due to our FS was out from town for long holiday. it was more than a month now. i'm not sure if my AMH level is good now. should i check for AMH level again right before the IVF?

I’m sure that if you need to check it again they will do so. I wouldn’t worry about it. They do this all the time.

By the way, I got AF like 10 mins ago. Super excited.
We will call FS later and schedule for the date to check for follicle count..

Finally, we can start to do something..fingers crossed.

We are informed by Assistant of FS that we are scheduled for the appointment today. So, we are up now and preparing to catch our train!
Gonna spend around 5 hours to reach the fertility center.

I have a quick question, how do the FS check the follicle count? Transvaginal scan? I'm on Day 3 of menstrual cycle, so I'm a bit curious.

The follicle count is 7. And FS wrote us a prescription to purchase Gonal and Pergoveris. Anyone use Pergoveris before?
We will start our stimulation tonight.

6-9 February : Pergoveris + Gonal 100

I feel fine with Gonal injection but feel a bit painful for the Pergoveris injection.

Dh was very nervous when he did the injections for me.

Three days to go until our next FS appointment.
