Hi all!

So I had my 1st dose before my bfp. I cancelled my 2nd as it was due the week of my BFP. I havent ruled out having it later on. I know new data shows that woman who have contracted covid in 3rd tri are at a much higher risk of becoming seriously ill, twice as likely to have a stillborn or preterm labour. I work in a school and will be 3rd tri over the winter period. But what I wanted to know is whether those of you who had or know of women who had the vaccine after 12wks went on to have healthy babies and those who have had or know of women who had covid in 3rd tri and what they experienced. Thank you x

My sister and my college BFF both had the 2 Covid shots during pregnancy (my sister at 15 and 18 weeks, my friend at 19/20 and 23/24 weeks) and both are doing great. My friend just had her daughter at almost 39 weeks (7.5 lbs perfectly healthy) and my sister is due in 2ish weeks and baby is doing great.

huge congratulations on your bfp!

Thank you for your reply. Lovely news on your sister and friend and their babies! And very reassuring x thanks again x

Following - I am also wondering this. I am almost 14 weeks, job is mandating the vaccine. I am open to getting it as I've had multiple friends get the vaccine while pregnant and its been fine. Many have delivered at this point. I am more trying to figure out when to get it. I am leaning towards the next couple of weeks starting the process.

Yes im unsure as to when the best time would be. As it has been over 12wks from my 1st I dont know if I would need both doses again or not. I will speak to my midwife next week.

Im reassured to know that the replies so far have been vaccinated and ok pregnancy/births/babies and not of people catching covid and things not going so well as a result.

Wondering too. I was going to wait, but lots of news stories are making me scared to wait. I only have 9ish more weeks to go so need to decide soon.

I just thought I would update here quick. So I had decided to get the vaccine at 16 weeks pregnant, but actually ended up testing positive for COVID at 15 weeks, 4 days. It was absolutely awful. Today I am 18 days from symptoms starting. I had extreme SOB, chest tightness, headaches, loss of smell and taste. My whole family got it but my symptoms were def the worst. I am finally feeling better as of the last few days, but it was an awful 2 weeks!... I am still planning to get vaccinated, but will be waiting until the 3rd trimester - once I'm out of my 90 day window!

Sorry to hear that covid was so tough for you! I got covid in April 2021 and it was a rough 2 weeks but I made a full recovery as well.

In Germany, the Protocol is 6 months -- no vaccination at least 6 months past your covid infection. There is more reservation about the covid vaccine especially when you're pregnant and breastfeeding -- many doctors do not advise taking the covid vaccine when pregnant. I can understand the fear of getting covid in the 3rd trimester but statistics show that a natural covid infection prevents future infections way more than a vaccine, such that there is no incremental benefit to get vaccinated again -- especially so soon when you're still pregnant. It's your choice of course. I wouldn't get the vaccine anymore after a natural covid infection.

Antibodies formed after a natural covid infection is more protective than a vaccine and T-bodies immunity is also formed after a natural covid infection. A lot of T-bodies are still found in the blood years (10 years and more) after a natural infection.

Wow that’s really interesting information about T-bodies ! Thanks for posting. .

So I was pregnant from Oct 2nd 2020 (conceived) and delivered July 5th 2021 (10 days late lol) and never contracted it. Just 22 weeks of HG. I also go to many social gatherings with family who work around sick people. So it isn't like being prego weakened my immune system. I take prenatals, vitamins (not in prenatals) and probiotics. I usually eat good but with HG I couldn't eat much and I didn't care if it was a block of sugar. If it stayed in my stomach I ate it!! So idk..Hope this helps.
