Hi everyone
I’m new here and this is my first cycle ttc after losing my baby boy at 22 weeks in March.
I found out at my 20 week scan (which was delayed by 2 weeks due to covid) that he had passed away at 17 weeks and my body had carried on as normal for the next 5 weeks. It was a huge shock especially as id had a gender scan at 16 weeks where they had commented on what a strong heartbeat he had. The only clue I had that something may be wrong is that I hadn’t felt him move yet but I had been told I had an anterior placenta so thought it was due to that. I had medical management and gave birth to him 2 days later after an 8 hour labour. I found out at my postnatal review 8 weeks later that I had lost him due to my placenta being small and not implanting properly. It was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever been through.
My pregnancy with him was unplanned (even though I was open to having more kids) but after my loss I realised how much I desperately want to be blessed again so decided to get straight back in the saddle after my first period (which took 9 weeks) and am now in the 2WW for this cycle.
Just wanted to share my story and if anyone would like to chat or I can help anyone in any way please let me know x

Im so sorry to hear. :hugs:I wish you lots of baby dust going forward.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I wish you all the best and baby dust going forward from here. I'm going to caution you to be prepared for the anxiety and worry to be at all time high levels with your next pregnancy and to give yourself grace because of it. Going through a pregnancy after such a tragic loss is not easy. I have lost many pregnancies and I have pregnancy induced PTSD and anxiety now. But I am lucky that I have an extremely understanding doctor who goes above and beyond to ease my fears. Whenever I have felt the need to see baby or hear the heartbeat, I've just had to call her up and she's worked me into her schedule somehow that same day. If you feel the need to see your baby moving or hear the heartbeat to ease your mind, then don't be afraid to call your doctor and ask for a reassurance scan or a heartbeat check. Having a supportive doctor is half the battle and if yours isn't, then don't be afraid to find another one who will listen and help you all they can.
