Hey,

Just a curious post really (as I know this is more of an old wives tale type of thing), but if you've had both a boy and girl, did you experience any differences?

I've had 2 boys (pregnant with 3rd, unknown sex). For my first son, I just felt mildly hungover from around week 7. Craved lots of junk food, but overall I felt fine. For my second son, I had basically no symptoms and felt mostly normal. The only thing I craved was fresh tomatoes. It was pretty great really.
This time round, from week 5 I have felt mild-moderately sick, most food in general is unappealing (yet I still find enough to constantly snack lol), and I have had no significant cravings. There have been a handful of times I thought I was going to spew, but didnt.

Anyway, it did get me slightly hopeful it could be a girl. But I'm 9 weeks and 3 days today, and I feel like the symptoms are easing up and disappearing, so now I'm back to thinking boy again haha.

I'll find out in a few weeks, and its fine either way, but thought it'd be interesting to hear peoples experiences in the meantime!

One thing I did find interesting actually, is that before each of my boys, I had quite vivid dreams of having a baby boy (I can still picture one of the dreams in my head over 6 years later).
This time round, I had a vivid dream of having a baby girl (it was the same morning I decided to test and got a BFP).
I kinda of think its probably more coincidence, but it would be kind of cool if it then was a girl!

For DS1, I had no nausea, no nothing.
For DS2, I had the worst nausea, I couldn't even function! I had to take the pills (which didn't even help). And it lasted until at least 20 weeks. I was SO sure he was a girl! CONVINCED haha!

I hope you get what you want <3

Its interesting hey!
I def was leaning towards girl when I first felt sick, but I think I'm def swinging back to boy now!
Ultimately I don't care (as I know I will love another boy just as much as my first two), but a girl after 2 boys would be a nice surprise!

Always here people say they have worst sickness with girls. Both my girls have been awful. But had a coworker come up to me and say she thinks I’m having a boy, she has a boy and girl and she had the worst sickness with her boy.

Yeah I agree, I tend to hear its worse with girls too!
Interesting about your co-worker!
My friend has 2 boys and had shocking morning sickness with both, so I guess it really does go either way.. I think I just hear more women say they had an easy pregnancy with a boy, over hearing women say they had an easy pregnancy with a girl.

I am having a girl and I had some nausea here and there in the first tri, and threw up a few times, but overall not terrible :)

Thought I'd update since we've just found out the sex of this third bubs, it seems for me that the old wives tale is true as we're having a girl (finding it hard to believe right now).
So for me at least, my two boy pregnancies have def been easier than my girl one!

Congrats on team pink! I thought #4 would be a boy but I'm just as sick as I was with my girls (sicker actually) so I'm leaning towards girl. Finding out in 5.5 weeks... the wait is killing me!

Congrats on Team Pink

With my 1st my son I was sick from 5 weeks to about 20 weeks had to have meds but I was mainly sick in the evening and could only face savory (I fact at the very beginning just craved chicken)

with my 2nd my daughter was had HG and I was so so sick constantly all day long even with meds and was still sick after she was born  I also craved more sweet things so fruit if I could stomach it

So yes I was much sicker with my girl than boy

Good luck - hopefully its a quick 5 and a half weeks!!!

I'm still eagerly awaiting my 12/13 week scan (only had blood test results so far), so still holding off on buying anything for bubs! - I wish I could feel more relaxed, but I've had 3 losses before, and my sister also found out at her 12 week scan (few years back now) that her baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks. So makes me a lot more cautious and nervous to celebrate just yet! Scan is this Friday.. I'm counting down the seconds lol.

It’s so anxious between appointments - waiting to see baby or hear the heartbeat. We’ve had some early losses too but the fact I’ve made it this far is comforting for me. Hope your scan goes well and you see a healthy babe in there!

@Twag so interesting what you said about on handling savoury with your boy pregnancy. I am a huge sweet lover, like a candy addict normally but this pregnancy I don’t want sweet at all, and any time I’ve tried to stomach it I end up throwing up! My MIL gave me some beautiful macarons for Mother’s Day... I didn’t have the heart to tel her there’s no way I could eat them XD. That’s one of the huge differences this pregnancy so maybe it is a boy!!

Yes anything savory was my go too - gherkins, rice and cheese, chicken anything sweet just didn't appeal but my daughter was all sweet I lived off Chai Tea as it was one of the only things I could stomach

Both DD1 and DD2 basically no sickness.
I’m team yellow this time again but my sickness has been shocking I was diagnosed with HG

Interesting about the sweet Vs savory!
I'm not a sweet tooth myself, and all 3 successful pregnancies I've still leaned towards savoury myself. My first (boy) I was all about cheesy mac, carbornara, toasted cheese sandwhiches, mashed potato & even steak (go figure lol). My second boy, I actually ate my usual diet with little to no cravings, other than loving fresh tomato more than usual.
This time round with baby girl, I've wanted things like Singapore noodles, rice paper rolls, sushi rolls (thankfully I have places near me that make these up fresh as they're not really reccommended durung pregnancy I believe 8-[), and the only sweet thing has been icy poles - which was more because the coldness helped me not feel as sick.

So funny/interesting how each pregnancy you can want such different food items!!

Oh thats interesting that you're having such a different experience with number 3! Hopefully the HG starts to ease for you soon! I honestly couldn't even imagine how exhausting it must be dealing with that on top of still looking after 2 kids as well!

Horrible morning sickness with both my girls, nothing at all with my boy. Having a 4th soon & barely had any symptoms just like with my son but this time I'm having a girl.

This is number 3 for me. First one I had very mild nausea that went away around 12 weeks and had a boy. Second pregnancy, had severe nausea from 5 weeks to a week post delivery...another boy. This time from the moment I felt nausea I went on 2 different meds for it....and it was still terrible but mostly went away around 24/26 weeks (still have a bad day of it about once every week or two and I'm 36 weeks). Having a girl this time. So for me, gender didn't make a difference with the nausea
