So we’ve decided that on a first name for our baby girl, Ella. We are just having a tricky time deciding on her middle name. I would’ve had Elizabeth after my Mum but as Ella can be a nickname for Elizabeth we have had to veto it.

DH really likes Seren as he loves the fact that it’s Welsh after my heritage and also the fact that it means star which is meaningful to us. My issue is I’m not sure it flows with our surname Martin. I’ve even debated whether it could use a second middle name like Rose to break it up a bit but as our son only has one middle name I’d feel bad giving our daughter two.

So what are everyone’s thoughts on Ella Seren Martin? Am I being daft and hormonal

Another idea we’ve had is:

Ella Arianne Martin - but it’s not as meaningful as Seren would be.

I think Ella Seren is a lovely name and I love the meaning behind it too :)

I prefer Seren to Arianne, especially if it is instead of Elizabeth, it has a personal connection to your family and a beautiful meaning.

Yeah I think I prefer Ella Seren too and was prob overthinking the flow which happens when you say it to yourself too many times

I really like Ella Seren. In terms of flow it sounds okay and there will be few times the full name is used anyway :)

Ella Seren 100% , not common, but not out there and will age well, timeless classic and beautiful!

Ella Seren is lovely! It doesn't need to "flow" perfectly. My mother wanted me to change my youngest's middle name to my own name because it would flow better, but it's just a middle name. Meaning is more important than flow in my opinion.

Love Ella Seren :cloud9:

I don't think it needs to flow the only time my two get called by their middle names is when they are naughty :haha:
Elliot has 2 middle names so he knows if I get to the 2nd middle name he is in trouble :haha: Izzy just has one middle name but she gets her full name of Isabella used :haha:
